Laser gum therapy for your comfort

The high-tech CEREC® camera takes a 3-dimensional optical impression of the damaged tooth, and uploads the image to the computer. This step avoids the uncomfortable impressions and molds that induce gagging. The 3-D image is far superior to the multiple steps involved in traditional crown fabrication. The image and design software uses 3-D CAD (Computer Aided Design) software to design the restoration that is more predictable, and a crown that fits better than traditional fabrication methods. A better fitting crown means that it will last longer because it has better resistance to re-decay of the crown. The patient also benefits by avoiding the sensitivity and inconvenience of "temporary" crowns that break, fall off, or are swallowed while eating. Lastly, CEREC® restorations are made of compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are stronger than laboratory restorations, which are layered porcelain. Higher strength means more resistance to practure and the need for replacement.
